Mirror chrome is not going anywhere. If anything, it's gotten more popular this year — especially in rose gold, silver, and the newer holographic powders that shift color depending on the light. Metallic finishes work best on gel nails — the chrome powder adheres more evenly to a gel base than to acrylic, and the glossy cure helps the pigment really pop. At our salon, we apply chrome using a silicone applicator after the gel base cures, which gives a much smoother finish than the old brush-on method.
